I have 2 graphic card on my laptop. One is intel hd which is integrated, and the other one is an amd radeon.
The problem is that the laptop is using the intel hd one for the games. I dont really know how to check properly but when i desactivate this graphic card, none of my games were able to works.
Do you have any idea how to force the pc to use the amd radeon one? And how do i check which card he is using for what.
I ve tried to search a solution on google but people doesnt really explain precisely and since i dont have a lot of knowledge on pc... wel didnt understood a lot. :D
There's a program called "gfxCardStatus".
What you want to do is download it, open it, and then it gives you the opportunity to switch between your intel and amd.
Remember not to make it ingame, otherwise there is a possibility, that your game crashes.
Usually your graphic cards driver should do that automatically (i mean switch when more power is required)
Maybe you use the wrong driver? Did you just reconfigure your pc? Did you put a new OS on it?
What happens if you fully disable the intel onboard one?
@night: ugh, i m not a pro at kidnapping, i need your advice :p
@rexxxie: i ll try to download it later and tell you about it. But i dont think it will work since when i desactivate the intel one he can only use the amd graphic card.. so idk
EDIT: it is only for macbook so..
@r3v: all the drivers are up to date, i checked just before posting it ^^
The pc is kinda new (october) and i didnt do anything special on it, i suspect this is like this since the beginning. So no new os on it too.
How do i fully disable the intel onboard?
hmpf, its long ago that i had to take care of such things on windows (i guess you use windows?).
I think you can disable graphic cards or any other device in the "device manager" i think with right click on the device one of the menu items you get is disable (i might be wrong here).
You said you checked whether the drivers are up to date. How did you check that?
Can you tell me the name of the laptop (assuming that you buyed a prebuilt one and did not choose components yourself built it yourself)?
btw maybe its better if we continue this discussion via skype or ts... (my skype name is revisor_xl)
boot up ur pc, it will ask u to press F2, DEL, F11 or smth like that to get into the bios. in there you search for an option to chose your gpu, sorry cant explain it better cuz I dont know what bios/uefi you have. try to search for some youtube tutorials
